Asta
Asta
Asta is a simple scarf, worked in brioche, with I-cord edges.
SIZE: Approx. 21 x 222 cm (each stripe measures approx. 13 cm).
GAUGE: 20 sts x 38 rows (19 visible brioche rows) = 10 x 10 cm in brioche pattern, using yarn A and B held together.
The gauge is not crucial, but differences will affect the finished size and the yardage used.
YARN: Asta is worked with two strands held together – one strand of wool (light fingering weight, yarn A) and one strand of silk mohair (lace weight, yarns B1–B5). Yarn A is used through the whole piece, yarns B1–B5 are used one at a time and create the stripes.
