SIZES
1, 2, (3, 4, 5), 6, 7.
Approx. 0 – 6 months, 6 months – 2 years, (2 – 6, 6 – 8, 8 – 10), 10 – 13, 13+ years.
Finished circumference: 23.5, 26, (28, 30.5, 33), 35, 38 cm.
GAUGE
34 stitches & 30 rows = 10 cm worked in 1x1 ribbing, unstretched, after blocking.
YARN
Plied, soft wool yarn with good elasticity, approx. 200-250m/100g,
for example:
Imagine Soft Merino (100m/50g),
Sandnes Double Sunday (108m/50g),
De Rerum Natura Gilliatt (250m/100g),
The Fibre Company Cumbria (216m/100g),
approx. 60, 70, (80, 100, 120), 150, 180 metres.
NEEDLES & HOOK
3.5 mm (US4) circular needles 40 cm (and, for size 1–4, a set of DPNs or Magic loop) – or a needle size that gives you the correct gauge.
Crochet hook 3.5 mm (E) for working the edges.
NOTIONS
Stitch marker, stitch holders, tapestry needle.
CONSTRUCTION
Klippan junior is worked top down in one piece. The cowl is worked in 1x1 ribbing, initially in the round, then divided for front and back. The front and back pieces are worked back and forth and shaped with some decreases. All the stitches are then bound off and a chain of slip stitches is worked around all the edges, using a crochet hook.
